The Bob Beale Tree Plant Program

Programmes d'échange d'amitié du sport du Canada
WHY A TREE PLANT PROGRAM?
- Our Program:
- What is it?
- The Bob Beale Tree Plant Program is a joint initiative of the Canada Sports
Friendship Exchange Programs and the Tree Canada Foundation. A tree plant
scenario was created to inspire youth, parents, teachers and their communities
to get involved with the evolution of our country and the cultural growth
of its citizens. The project allows schools and youth organizations to
raise funds while helping the environment and expanding their perspectives
on national unity. Youth taking part in the program would enlist their
friends and neighbors to sponsor a tree for $5.00 dollars.
- Why Participate?
- This program gives youth the unique opportunity to raise funds for their
own organizations and, at the same time, help two charitable organizations
and the environment. The youth are then given the opportunity to be awarded
participation in a cultural exchange, and become the proud holder of the
TREE CANADA CUP for the year.
- Who Plants the Trees?
- Trees will be planted on your behalf by the TREE CANADA FOUNDATION (TCF),
a not-for-profit charitable organization that plants trees, through working
partnerships, in urban and rural Canada (website: www.treecanada.ca)
- How Important are Trees?
- Trees supply oxygen, absorb carbon dioxide, odors, pollution, noise, dust,
heat and reduces the greenhouse effect while providing a habitat for wildlife
and beautifying our communities. This program provides an environmental
opportunity for concerned, pollution conscious youth, parents and communities.
